Background

I am Henry, a 4th year PhD student at ASU. I am also a predoctoral visiting fellow in Dr. Xiaofang Jiang’s lab since December 2024. My current research revolves around microbes and evolutionary biology with a sprinkle of community ecology. I am currently working on projects that i) explore the space of prokaryotic gene families as potential phylogenetic markers and ii) assess sampling strategies for database engineering in microbiome research. I am also very interested in microbes, community ecologym and complex systems and hope to work on a project(s) that fuses those ideas in the future.
