Background

My name is Angela Jiang and I am a computational biology Ph.D. student who joined Dr. Brantley Hall and Dr. Xiaofang Jiang’s labs in 2024. My research involves studying microbial evolution, identifying enzymes important to gut health using comparative genomics, and developing novel bioinformatic tools and databases aiding in microbial research. As an undergraduate, I studied the molecular evolution of testate amoebae. Outside of research, my interests include hiking, pets, playing video games and programming mods for them. I am also passionate about scientific outreach and education.
